General Customization

I used All Import Plugin (paid for version) to completely capture the data, as well as images that appeared within this independent printed directory.  It was quite complex, and had to preform, several times before it was perfect.

Traditional printed directories utilize a single classification for each business.  A business can be listed in several of these classifications.  A traditional directory can easily have over 2000 headings.  I created an algorithm that assigned the traditional heading a common tag, thus creating 17 or 20 tags that could be assigned to all the yellow page headings.  This greatly reduced the hierarchy of the directory make up for this online version.

SEO Optimization

Yoast, and other, but not many, as this product is still in it's infancy.

Performance Optimization

The MyListing theme is a good one, however, I have difficulty on improving its speed out of the box.  I just started using Flywheel, in hopes that I can see the true speed of the code in a developmental environment.  I am still not impressed. It still takes some time to load certain items, specifically the Explore page.  It must have to load the entire database of records, (I have over 10,000) records, and that takes a while to do.
